Hello?
Anyone here?
ECHO!
Echo
echo
...
Hmmm... just on the off-chance that anyone's paying attention: I'm off to Montserrat in two weeks time (*gulp*), and although we'll have a guide I'd like to have some idea what I'm desperately scrabbling up.
Can anyone recommend a guidebook? Preferably in English; I don't think my Spanish reading comprehension is up to coping with route descriptions and the like.

This place is pretty dead, now, apparently. Everyone has de-camped to web fora.
There's usually some gay porn spammed every couple of days, tho.

I know, but I like to try to make an effort to revive it every so often.
When AndrewR and I went to France, we got some pretty good info following a post here, including some stuff from a native who sent me a lengthy email including everything I'd ever need to know.

*shudder*
Call me old-fashioned, but I just don't get on with them.

Weird, innit? Why here? Maybe it's the ropes and harnesses...

I'm still scanning the group, but on this ocassion I can't offer any advice since it isn't an area I've visited. My next overseas trip is a ski-mountainering trip to the alps just after easter.

Yes I have an account on UKclimbing but somehow web-based forums seem so clunky and it's difficult to follow the threads of a discussion.

The nice thing about newsgroups is that you can set up filters and killfiles.

Now you're just showing off.

Some (but not many) of them do half-decent threading, but it still means I have to go to each web site in turn to check what's been posted since I last looked.
And don't get me started on images in sigs, and animated smileys, and embedded html... :-#

One of the many nice things...

Try corron.com, I believe that you can pay and download a PDF guide from them.

Ah, thanks.
It's coronn.com, in case anybody else is looking. I'll have a look at the samples later, but their price seems reasonable.

Apologies for the mispelling. From what I've seen their topos are as good as most others you're likely to find.

No problem, I didn't have much trouble finding it.

Thanks; they seem to be cheap enough, so I'll have a look at them this evening.
